RE: Joseph's (aka Antenor60) Journal
Wow.... It's been quite a week. We have a new professor, and he's quite the whip-cracker. School hours have been extended and I've not even had time to do my laundry, LOL, let alone get online!

This last week has been sort of a stalemate. I've lost a pound or so, but I haven't been faithful to meat-and-water. It's "always something." I've not had any carbs-as-such, but I have compromised and had a few pounds of cheese. It's never really been a problem for me to eat a lot of this, so occasionally in lieu of lunch (or dinner) I've just had a large helping of cheese instead.

I bought a cast iron skillet, because all this actual use has caused the lining of my cheap wal-mart skillet to start flaking off, and I didn't want that to happen again. However, having never cooked with such an implement before, I burnt my hamburger last night and had to use copious amounts of mustard in order to make it edible. Doesn't seem to have had any ill effects, but I still feel bad. This absolutely-zero-carb stuff is harder than it looks!!

I still need to find time to visit some local butcher shops and see what I can get in the way of actual steaks and fat. I'm getting tired of ground beef, and I love the taste of steak.

This morning, I had to go into the depths of my closet to find something clean to wear. I did so with reluctance, because everything that fits, I'd already worn... I put on a shirt that was too tight a few weeks ago, and ---lo and behold! It actually fit! I think this is the first time in my life I've actually been able to wear something again after I couldn't, before. Pretty neat feeling!

Joseph

The secret to cast iron is to season it and then not wash with detergent. Just wipe out or use hot water if necessary.

Joseph, I need you to update this journal. I'm afraid that you've become a lurker and that's equivalent to a "guest".

Regards,

Charles
