My friend Lynne asked me to post this...

"She had major surgery nearly 3 weeks ago and her doctor has been pretty surprised by her recovery. She told him that he was going to be talking about her at his cocktail parties, and he didn't believe her.
She just wanted you all to know how quickly one heals from major surgery when you are Zero Carb....
She's not supposed to go back to work for 4 weeks, but she is going back this week.
You should see her too... No bruising, very little swelling, and she only did pain killers for 2 days."

There is no "time" that is peculiar to ZC. It all depends on the individual. Many do report healing from things quicker but there's no consensus. Just wish her well.

RE: From This Moment Forth........
Beautiful morning here and I'm ready to roam the hispanic markets in the area. I have plenty of meat, but I feel like there is something else I must find. Maybe I'm just itchy to get out and explore.
I am teetering on a weight I don't remember ever being..

Son and I will be taking a drive up the coast this weekend. We want to go up to Sebastian Inlet where we hear the waves are beautiful, the shells are abundant and it's a small town atmosphere. I've booked us a place on the ocean for Saturday night. Florida has some interesting topography. We went to the Everglades a couple of weekends ago when DH was home. We took an airboat ride into the Everglades and saw beautiful wildlife. We stopped at this BBQ place on the Tamiami Trail and DH had fried alligator! I was amazed that he ate cooked protein. He's coming around slowly. Wink

I upped my fat this past week and lordy, I've been having diarrhea pretty much every morning. I think it's the lamb breast. It's probably 90% fat and 10% meat, and I think that ratio really has cleaned out my intestines.. Not that they needed cleaning out mind you, but they have been officially cleaned out! hahahaha!

I had a talk with my son this morning and begged him to try and limit his sugar intake from now through Christmas. I just feel that sugar lowers our immune system and frankly, after reading about friends suffering from terrible flu viruses, I would love nothing better than to avoid getting sick this winter. He argued with me and told me that sugar wasn't going to interfere with colds. Ah... teenagers.

Enjoy the day!

Lynne asked me if I would put these pictures up for her to show how she's transformed her body.
She will be taking pictures of her new belly when the swell and stitches are out.
I can't post frontal pictures of me, but I can of her.
Remarkable job she's done.

RE: From This Moment Forth........
Why doesn't she get a journal and post them herself? Nice pictures, however..... It would be nice to get some context to her story along with the pictures.

RE: From This Moment Forth........
Thanks Kelly, much appreciated, and thanks to Diane for finding my old journal..
wow! I was reading it and so many memories came flooding back.
It was a struggle to get into the ZC groove for me because of my unwillingness to eliminate some of the foods that were triggering my binges.

I just got back from the doctor's and come to find out, i have no stitches in my abdomen.. duh!
those are scabs i'm seeing... lololol goes to show you how terrified i am of looking closely at that incision..
i have a squeamish factor of Zero!
lolol

RE: From This Moment Forth........
I'm glad you're back, Lynne. But, I have to point out that you weren't ZC since 2008, as it says in your picture above. When you quit last January 2009, you were eating veggies regularly. How much did you lose on ZC and when did you go ZC?

RE: From This Moment Forth........
I am so confused.
I thought I was in someone else's journal.

Where was I? Oh yes, I was saying that life is ho hum here. Holidays were good, family flew out and spent weeks with us from CA. It's been cold here and we're complaining just like the natives here. I just learned that I'm expecting our 2nd child in October. I have no plans to differentiate with the way I'm eating. My dh has crossed the barrier in that he's eating steak with me now. It's been a slow transition, but he sees how easy my life is, how calm I've gotten in spite of the pregnancy.
He has seen a full transformation in me that he's quite excited about.

That's about it. Nothing exciting going on in my life, just living, loving, sharing, preparing.
I noticed that the membership is real low. Was there some kind of purging?
