Well, I'm usually averse to politics and religion but if talking about your activities would allow us to see more of you on ZIOH, then you can certainly have a thread in Socializing to pontificate. I'm sure there is a health angle that you can argue. We just want Moxie around so let me know.

Charles

Okey dokey, the Cliff’s Notes version:

Dismissing the pack-of-jackals attack on an enthusiastic, supportive member of this forum (vice a troll) and carrying on as if it changed nothing has proven to be a distasteful and impossible task.

After much deliberative mental gymnastics, it remains my contention that the genesis of the drama surrounding Katelyn was/is based on a personality conflict thinly disguised as a necessary reaction to a perceived medical crisis. The continuation of schoolgirl sniping in some journals reinforces my admittedly not-worth-the-screen-it-appears-on opinion.

There are some very good people (myself NOT included; I’m in the *very bad people* group) who have left the board over this and others who are equally dismayed but simply weather it better and choose to remain. This mini-upheaval might offer a clue as to how poorly this issue was handled.

Ya, I know, blah blah blah.

Rose was far more eloquent, but she’s also a kind gentle spirit whereas I’m just disgusted and irritated. I did give it a good college try but came up short.

So, Mods, please lock or delete my journal, and Charles, thank you for the time and effort you put into creating this space for ZCers.

Surely, no one thought I would let this one go without a response.....

Even Katelyn had the decency to admit that she realized that the women who supposedly "attacked" her, cared about her. Katelyn was thankful that so many people cared about her and thought enough about her to share their unanimous opinions that she had an eating disorder. She didn't share their opinion but she did acknowledge the kindness extended to her. That's more than I can say for her supporters who only knew half the story.

These were not just ordinary women, nor were they a "pack of jackals" as you inelegantly described my friends. They were women who suffered and recovered from eating disorders themselves and merely recognized one of their own. Our Eating Disorders thread outlines the routines of many women and Katelyn fit squarely within that rubric. She was the only one on this forum who didn't believe she had an eating disorder.

All of that aside, she was not banned for having an eating disorder. She was banned for eating in such a way that was NOT ZC and influencing new members with her choices. That was far more important than any issue that she had.

Those of you who insist on enabling her could at least manage to take her classy approach and leave the immature name-calling aside, don't you think? "Pack of Jackals?" Seriously, Moxie? Surely we are more educated than this!

Personality conflict with whom? With whom did she clash? You were at several meatups where you heard people from all over the country with different backgrounds expressing the same concerns, where you not? In fact, you have expressed similar concerns with me personally so how you get off acting as if you never heard or said any of this just blows me away. You must have been hit in the had at one of your rallies such that your memory was affected.

What Katelyn refers to as "hype" was personally witnessed by members of this forum on more than one occasion. We sat at the table with her. We heard and saw her frustration at not being able to count the calories in her food; We saw her powerwalk after dinner, leaving her hosts and others behind in order to burn off the calories from her meal. We heard her disordered talk, constant sexual innuendo and witnessed her conceited spectacle. We didn't make this up.

When you add all of that to the peculiar way she behaved on the forum prior to Montreal, there was only one decision to be made after that trip was completed, but I was unable to make it. Why? Because I actually cared.

This part, I can agree with. The fault is mine for not ending this charade right after the Montreal meatup when common sense told me to do just that. By delaying, I created a monster. However, being the fighter that ZIOH has always been, we will not die, we will not diminish, and we will continue the great work that we began despite the disgruntled masses on the outside.

It's quite interesting that those who left, with few exceptions, were people who had trouble implementing ZC anyway. You have found a new safe haven where your forays into cupcakes and cookies will be met with sympathy and enabling, something you couldn't find here. Where your progress pictures claiming that you are ZC when you really only got liposuction will not be looked at with scrutiny. Where people will not grow agitated with constant chatter about yourself, your body, your dinner bowls, and what guys you enjoy sleeping with.

Moxie Wrote:Ya, I know, blah blah blah.

You got that right.

ZIOH has never been concerned with numbers. We had over 1600 members and I pruned the majority of them. Any time you see the reference "the mixed multitude" in the Bible, they are always up to no good and I sense the same is true here. I have seen the recent posts and justifications from these former members and I am not moved or impressed. Katelyn is busy justifying the difficult decision I chose to make -- which by the way, I would make once again under the same circumstances. She was not ZC and she was removed.

Those of you who have been shown not to be ZC will not return as it says in our membership guidelines. When I said a pure ZC forum, that's exactly what I meant.

Regards,

Charles
