Katelyn

Can someone explain like you would to a 5 year old, exactly how to "quote"?
Enter [quote']'......text of what you want to quote.....[/quote] or [quote=XXXXX where XXXX is the name of the member you want to quote.......[/quote] Eliminate the apostrophes around the 1st ] as I cannot do this reply without them. I otherwise they think it is a real quote.

Then your reply.
you can either click on the 'reply' button in the lower right hand side of the post.. or the one with the plus sign right beside it.

The 'reply' button will take you to the make a post page, the + button merely saves the post so when you go to make a new reply you can choose to quote the posts or not. You can quote several posts at once using the + button.
look at the small print under the post box, this is what appears when you use the + button as opposed to the REPLY button

How cool is that? I didn't know that, Margot. I need to ask you more about how my forum works....
it is handy dandy because you can quote a whole lot of posts and even quote posts from another thread like that too.

It keeps them all separated, which is fun because you can reply to them individually too Smile

I am testing this.

Is this right? I figured it out! Thanks, Margot!

there ya go!! and if you then use the 'preview post' button first, you can remove any part of the post that you do not want to quote. That keeps the thread nice and neat and easy to read for others Smile

just make sure you do not delete any of the [/quote] tags or it will mess things up LOL
