I don't get this. Supposedly insulin is the fat storage hormone and trumps all other hormones. So how can you have elevated insulin without gaining fat?
I am a former binge eater. When I first started zc I had to limit my portions or I would have eaten all day long, kinda like a dog, lol. Have you thought about eating 3 meals a day and leaving it at that? That is what I would do, I certainly do not think zc is a free for all to eat all day long. I would probably gain too if I ate that much or ate all day. I reccommend just eating three times a day to keep it regulated a bit.
I too work at a desk in front of my laptop all day long – then I go home and start surfing LC forums too lol… I know what you mean re Compulsive eating while studying, I used to do that all the time when I was at school and having to study for exams, whether in front of a PC or just while reading my books, I usually had to have nuts /popcorn to nibble on for hours and hours. Wasn’t hungry, just had to do it every time I was revising for exams.
In fact this too was my problem when doing LC, LC allows nuts, I just loooooove nuts lol, I could eat tons of the stuff.
I started ZC while having a week off work, and I managed to keep myself busy here and there, gong to the shops, watching movies, so didn’t have the impulse to nibble all day long, but when I went back to work, bang, the first couple of days, I actually started nibbling all day long on my homemade meatballs, so decided not to bring meatballs to work anymore – I thought it would be harder to nibble on a steak or ribs while working at my desk lol. Anyway, like everyone else here, my appetite naturally went down after the 2nd/3rd week of ZC, I now eat just enough to satisfy me, and have no urge to snack or overeat. Also as everyone else here says, the spices do make one overeat, I am a chilli addict, so I often ended eating a lot more than I should, just because I was loving the taste of chilli, not because I was hungry.

Insulin is not just a fat storage hormone. Insulin does indeed regulate fat metabolism but that is not all it regulates. You can have elevated insulin if you have NO INSULIN RESISTANCE.
This is why children can eat high carb crap for years before they finally get fat as is the case for many of us. Once you get about 25 or so, all of a sudden the very same diet makes you fat. It's also the reason reason that 75 grams of carbs on Atkins works today, but doesn't work tomorrow.
One does not overeat on any food without having unstable blood sugar. I would love to see Timmypatch's blood lipids two months ago and today because that would offer some clues about what's going on with his diet and body. Without that, all we have are his words and his two months of experience.
Again, for the umpteenth time, only the lucky ones get fat and you must know that. People with elevated insulin but low insulin resistance may go straight to any of the symptoms of chronic disease and such is metabolic syndrome.
This seems like a weak trolling attempt to me.

Yes, exactly.
I got fat at age seven, because the steroid medication gave me 'insulin resistance'.
Whilst my 3 other siblings were thin all their childhood. Only now are they having issues as adults.

Are you consistently getting only 4 hours of sleep a night? Are you only getting this amount of sleep when you are chained to a desk? Did you get this amount of sleep when you were low carbing before and not chained to a desk.
Lack of sleep can really mess with your metabolism.
P.S. I gained a tremendous amount of weight when I went to college and was chained to a desk all day long. It has been too long now to remember what I was eating. It wasn't due to beer parties though. I remember feeling stressed studying all the time and I didn't get a whole lot of exercise at all other than walking between classes.
NYteez, I believe, has said that if she eats above satiety she will gain weight. So this phenomena of excessive eating and weight gain is not unheard of in ZC. Timmy, did you mention a tendency for compulsive behavior? You may have a mild case of OCD. Have you ever been at this weight before?
Couldn't hurt to try getting rid of the seasonings. The sleep factor is a big one too. Not enough sleep can mess with your melatonin (a hormone) levels and can set your whole body off kilter.
If you eat meat and fat when you are hungry and don't eat when you are not then you should lose or maintain. Timmy is bingeing all day everyday on meat and water (so he says). None of it makes sense. TROLL.

I don't get this either. I though hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance were concurrent disorders!? How can you overproduce insulin but not have your cells be resistant to it? What does the excess insulin do on a daily basis then if one's cells are not insulin resistant? I mean what is the actual mechanism for insulin to do what it does if it is being overproduced, but not in response to insulin resistance?
